Farm Fresh Fun is the agri-tourism arm of the Middle Tennessee Tourism Council, an organization administered by the Greater Nashville Regional Council.

In Tennessee, agri-tourism is the process of attracting visitors to areas of the state used primarily for agricultural purposes. Tennessee has a rich and diverse agricultural history.  Very often, agri-tourism is small-scale, low-impact, and, in most cases, education-focused.

The GNRC serves as the lead regional tourism agency under annual contract with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, and supports tourist promotion and development activities in the Region through the MTTC.

The Tourism Council membership is made up of area chamber of commerce representatives, other area business representatives, and local elected officials. Through GNRC and the State Department of Tourist Development, the Council has annual funding of some $55,000 in grants and local matching funds.

Be sure to check the Tennessee Department of Agriculture web site, http://www.picktnproducts.org, for more information on many of the agri-tourism attractions and individual farms. This project is made possible by the sale of agriculture specialty license plates (the “Ag Tag”). Funds received from the “Ag Tag” sales are returned to the agricultural community in the form of grants for youth programs, market development projects, and other agricultural projects.
